Heart Centered Care
Stress is the wear and tear the body experiences in reaction to everyday challenges, tensions and pressures. The American Institute of Stress claims that up to 90% of all health problems are related to stress. Too much stress wears down the immune system, increasing the risk of everything from colds to hypertension. Chronic stress can contribute to heart disease, high blood pressure, stroke, depression and sleep disorders.
Current research has suggested that the heart is more than an organ which pumps blood around the body. The heart it has been suggested is the centre of our emotions. Our emotions influence the workings of the heart in terms of heart rhythms and electrical signals.
It is now possible to measure the hearts stress pattern using computerized technology.
We are trained in assessing the heart in this way and give you methods of entraining the heart and mind to create balance and more peace. This we can now measure and improve using simple exercises.
With the program you can see (instantly!) how your thoughts and emotions affect the heart and nervous system. When stressed, your heart rhythm has an irregular, jagged, incoherent pattern. When you are in a more positive emotional state, the heart rhythm pattern changes to a smoother, wave-like, coherent pattern. By seeing the visual changes on the screen and associating it with a more peaceful, calm internal state, you can learn to manage stress and maintain a state of physiological coherence and balance.
Heart Centred Care can help with and provide:
• stress reduction and self-regulation skills
• simply, easy-to-use programs with fun games
• stress reduction benefits for ADD/ADHD, anger, anxiety, depression, chronic pain, heart problems, and hypertension.
